Following the announcement made by Bundaberg Tourism and Bundaberg Regional Council, the Bundaberg Visitor Information Centre (VIC) has officially made the big move to the Hinkler Hall of Aviation, located in the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens.
Louisa Hyland, Bundaberg’s VIC Coordinator, shares further information about the move, the reopening of the centre and provides some insight into being a volunteer at the VIC.
When will the Visitor Information Centre start running from the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens?
The new Bundaberg Visitor Information Centre (VIC) officially opened its doors on Monday 16 June, just in time for the winter holiday season.
Where will it be located and what are the opening hours?
You’ll find us in the foyer of the Hinkler Hall of Aviation – right in the heart of the beautiful Bundaberg Botanic Gardens.
The centre is open seven days a week from 9 am to 3 pm.
Why is this location a great spot for the VIC?
Being based at the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens means visitors get a true “one-stop” experience.
It’s more accessible from the main road and is surrounded by some of Bundaberg’s best-loved attractions, including Hinkler Hall of Aviation, Fairymead House Sugar Museum, the Japanese Gardens and the Railway Museum.
What can people find out when they visit the VIC?
Whether you’re a first time visitor or playing tourist in your own town, you’ll get expert tips on things to see and do across the Bundaberg Region and beyond.
How many volunteers will be working at the new VIC?
We have a passionate team of 13 dedicated volunteers ready to welcome you with local know-how and genuine Bundy charm.
On arrival you can expect to be greeted by two of our knowledgeable volunteers.
What do volunteers love most about their role?
They love connecting with travellers and sharing the hidden gems and local favourites that make our region so special.
Many visitors are surprised by just how much there is to explore – and our team love helping them discover it all.
