For the past three years, Lindsay Transport Bundaberg has proudly gone pink to support breast cancer awareness, with dedicated staff raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
John Begeda, Depot Manager at Lindsay Transport Bundaberg, had this to say about this year’s fundraising event.
What is the purpose of the fundraiser?
In the last 10 years breast cancer diagnoses in Australia have increased by 24%.
Each day, 58 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 people a day are dying from the disease.
Funding world class breast cancer research is more important than ever if we want to change these outcomes.
What activities were planned?
Staff at the depot all donate and participate by dressing up in pink for the day.
For the last three years Lindsay Transport Bundaberg has chosen a day to dress in pink to raise awareness in the month of June.
We also have raffles and a donation drive.
How will the funds raised be utilised and how can the community be involved?
The funds go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) which is committed to funding research to reach a determined vision – zero deaths from breast cancer.
Community can donate through the link here or they can drop by the depot at 102 Zielke Avenue, Kalkie with cash donations.
Each year we are raising more money, so far we have raised $2336 through online and cash donations.
With your support and generosity, we can achieve the NBCF vision and stop deaths from breast cancer.
