The stars of the future will be on show when around 600 competitors from 57 clubs from throughout South Queensland in age groups from Under-7 to Under-17 contest the Little Athletics Queensland 2021 Coles Spring Carnival at the Bundaberg Athletic Club tomorrow.
Joel Latham, one of many life-time club champions in the side, had extra cause for celebration, taking out the Bundaberg Hockey Division 1 Men’s Player of the Grand Final Award and the Patron’s Trophy for D1 Men’s Player of the Year after bridesmaid of the past four seasons Waves Cities finally made it back to the Altar with a 6-0 white-wash of four times defending champions All Blacks.
Hosts Bundaberg wound up second to Gold Coast II in the 2021 Hockey Queensland Under-15 Boys Division 2 State Championships at Hinkler Park despite losing just one of their seven matches for the tournament, but they were left to rue the one that got away from them.
Six local riders have competed in the Queensland Riding for the Disabled State Championships via video entry for the first time in the competition’s history.
