What a day it was, two games in the Ladies Open Triples Competition as well as social games.

Runners Up: rink 9: competition game.

The Jackpot also went off, six lucky Ladies took home the cash!

Competition in order of when the game finished:

Game one: Jacquie Rogerson and Robbie Hannah had a win over Gail Lenz and John Robinson.

Unfortunately team Robbo had to withdraw before the game finished due to injury.

We all hope to see you back on the green Gail after a full recovery.

Game two: Team Byrnes, Robbie and Rhonda had a hard fought win over Donna Smith and Bob Winzar by just one point, can’t get much closer than that!

Game three: Judi Barrett and Chris Hooper had a win over Team Mullins, Phil and Marilyn.

Thursday Night 1 May: Winners: Kemal & Snake. The ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot was not won and will now be $134+ next Thursday.

Friday 2 May: Winners: Cal Toft, Malcolm Juillerat. Sportsman: Ivan grills, Wayne Watson

Saturday 3 May: Winners: Tim Clark, Geoff Davis. Sportsman: Darren Phillips, Patrick Cotter.

All competition draws are on the boards and members are requested to arrange games by mutual agreement where possible.

Competition results

Championship Fours Final: Congratulations to Cal Toft, Glen Hayes, Jamieson Morgan and Greg Jackson for winning the Fours Final on Saturday.

They defeated Brendan Whalley, Daniel Stanton-Cook, Keegan Lankowski and Keith Whalley 18-14.

Jacko’s team led 13-3 after 10 ends before a spirited comeback by the opposition to trail 14-16 with two ends to play.

Whalley’s team was holding two shots to square the match, but Jacko converted the head to get 1 shot.

This left them 3 in front playing the last end which was enough to secure the match.

Well played!

The winners will now play the District Champion of Champions playoffs on the weekend of the 31 May and 1 June. Good luck!

Anyone wishing to try Bowls for the first time will be most welcome.

The ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot is played each week with the chance to win some extra cash.

Wide Bay Bowls Classic (WBBC) BBQ

On Saturday the 17 May in conjunction with social bowls and the Competition Call there will be a free players BBQ to celebrate and say ‘thank you’ to all members that participated in the 2025 Wide Bay Bowls Classic.

The BBQ will be open to all social players/visitors on the day even if you did not participate in the WBBC.

So come along and enjoy a game of Bowls with a free BBQ after the game.

Club opening hours are – Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10 am – 5.30 pm, Wednesday 11 am – 9 pm, Thursday 2 pm – 9 pm, Friday 10 am – 9 pm, Saturday 10 am – 6 pm (10 pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9 am – 2 pm.

Friday 9 May – the Goose Club raffle will be drawn at 7 pm – tickets are $1 each with 15+ prizes to be won.

Tickets can be purchased from the bar or bought on the night.

The members draw will be conducted after the Goose Club draw – members must be present at the draw to claim the $230.

Live entertainment on Friday evening will be provided by ‘Bradz Rock N Rhythm’.

So come down to the Club for a great night out with the chance to win some cash and raffle prizes.

The Bistro will be operating on a full menu, so come along and try something from the new menu.
