Dance, feast and be merry at Mayor’s Ball

The Mayor’s Ball is the gala event of this year’s Taste Bundaberg Festival.

Dance, feast and be merry at this year’s Mayor’s Ball, the gala event for Taste Bundaberg Festival, to be held on Saturday 13 September.

The Mayor’s Ball is a highlight of the festival with last year’s event selling out within nine minutes of tickets going on sale.

Guests will enjoy a night of live music, dance, performance and delicious food at the Bundaberg Multiplex Sport and Convention Centre.

Bundaberg Region Mayor Helen Blackburn said the Mayor’s Ball menu had been specially curated to celebrate the region’s diverse fresh produce and local producers.

“The Mayor’s Ball is the centrepiece event of Taste Bundaberg Festival, and the custom menu celebrates the true heart of Taste: our local producers,” Mayor Blackburn said.

“From locally caught seafood to produce fresh from our rich red soil, the canapes, main and dessert are Bundaberg on a plate.

“The menu highlights so many of our wonderful local suppliers and producers by name, guests will see the pride of our region as they dine.

“As added kudos, Taste Bundaberg Festival guest chef, Harry Butterfield, has given the menu his seal of approval!”

Mayor Blackburn said the ball’s theme of ‘black, white and light’ would see the Bundaberg Multiplex transformed.

“Guests won’t recognise the Multiplex when they enter the Mayor’s Ball through an Insta-worthy tunnel of light.

“There will be a photo wall for people to enjoy, and some great music to get everyone up and dancing.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to get dressed up, get together with friends and create some special memories.”

Music and entertainment will be provided by local performers Abby Skye & The Batman and Keely Ellen along with the Anthems! Live Band from Brisbane.

Mayor Blackburn said the ball would raise funds for the 2025 Mayor’s Christmas Appeal, helping local charities to provide gifts, hampers and vouchers to families in need at Christmas.

“We will have a fantastic raffle and live auction on the night with proceeds to be donated to this year’s Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.

“The Mayor’s Ball will bring the community together for an evening of celebration, entertainment and generosity.”
