In an effort to keep the region's arts community engaged, Bundaberg Regional Council will be hosting a connecting creatives event at the Childers Art Space.

Held on Saturday, 19 March from 10am, artists and creators are invited to come together to network with each other while hearing from a range of guest speakers.

Council’s Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said the event was a great way for people to find new inspiration and meet like-minded people.

“As a result of the Covid pandemic, many people have found themselves isolated, so this event is a great way to bring artists back together and provide them with support,” he said.

“It is also a chance to find out more information about local opportunities including workshops and grants.

“I would encourage any local artists, performers, or those interested in getting started in the arts, to attend as this will be a great chance for our local creatives to connect.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a variety of guest speakers including Marilyn Murray who is a local Childers Artist.

Other guest speakers include:

• Jolene Watson, RADF Officer, Bundaberg Regional Council
• Carrie-Anne Jones, Childers Arts Space

This is a free event, although registrations are essential as refreshments will be served.

You can register for the event here or by phoning 4130 4876, with registrations closing on Friday, 18 March.
