Explore our region: Bargara Turtle Park

Situated on The Esplanade in the heart of Bargara is the Bargara Turtle Park.

Visitors can sit back and relax as they soak in the views, enjoy a splash in the ocean on beautiful Bargara Beach or watch their kids play in the turtle playground.

Forming the shape of an enormous turtle, the playground encourages interactive and imaginative play with multiple play elements.

Kids can slide down the turtle’s flipper or perch on its head, climb the mast of a boat, engage in water play and emerge from the turtle’s mouth in this fun and inventive playground.

Featuring shaded grass areas, shelters and picnic tables, Bargara Turtle Park is the ideal spot for a beachside picnic or barbecue.

Located opposite local cafes and take away food establishments, there are many options for the perfect get-together.

Visitors can also take time out for a relaxing break to enjoy the scenery and try a bit of whale or dolphin spotting.

The sealed Turtle Trail runs through the park, linking Kelly’s Beach Bargara to Burnett Heads.

A short walk along the trail leads to Christsen Park and the Basin swimming area to the south, or head north towards Schukraft Park and Nielson Beach Park and beyond to Mon Repos.

Facilities include toilet and change facilities, drinking fountains and barbecues.
