Bundaberg Brass Band will have its first public performance of the year with a free family-friendly concert on Sunday at Bargara.
There will be a wide variety of music on the foreshore from 3pm to entertain people of all ages.
There will be fundraising raffles to support the band and donations to “Tubby the Tuba” will be much appreciated.
The latest band newsletter says members are looking forward to a full program of concerts and contests this year.
New or returning members of all ages and abilities are invited to attend rehearsals on Tuesdays for the Brass Academy from 6pm to 7pm and for the band from 7pm to 9pm.
There is a small supply of instruments available for new members to use. For more information call Neil McCabe (4155 2537) or Greg Goldsworthy (Brass Academy leader) on 0427 619 767.
“We have the capacity to increase all sections, but particularly need more cornets and trombones due to some of our younger members leaving to go to uni,” the newsletter says.
“We are still putting in requests for grants to continue with renovations to our band hall.
“Painting or new cladding of the exterior is our next priority so we're hoping to hear some good news soon.”
