The Bundaberg and Gin Gin Radio Controlled Car Club is exhibiting at the Model Train and Hobby Expo which concludes today.

The display is a new addition to the Expo currently running at the Multiplex.

The radio-controlled vehicles come in all shapes and sizes with many model aligned with their owners favourite make of car.

Club president Paul Crook was delighted at the opportunity for members to display their passion to a large audience.

“Like most clubs we cater to everyone from beginners through to seasoned veterans and operating a radio-controlled vehicle in either a social or race situation is simply great fun,” he said.

“Our home track is located at Daph Geddes Park which is the former netball courts over East Bundaberg.

“We have a premier event coming up in August this year — the RCRA Qld EP Onroar State Titles which will be raced at Daph Geddes Park.

“This is a visually exciting event and featured some of the best operators and cars from throughout Queensland. Mark the date, August 16 to 18, on your calendar because you won’t want to miss this event either as a competitor or as a spectator.”

“I really do urge anyone interested in the hobby of radio controlled car racing to get along to the Expo and have a chat with us.

“More information is available by contacting the club at bundabergginginrccarclub@gmail.com or check us out on Facebook.”

  • The Expo is open on Sunday, 24 March from 9am to 4pm. Admission is $12 adults, $5 children 8-16, $9 pensioners, $30 family pass, kids under eight free. There are lots of fun exhibits.
