Bucking bulls and cowboy boots will be the theme of the night when PBR Australia brings its touring pro series rodeo to Burnett Heads.

PBR Bull Mania Burnett Heads will be held at Jack Norgate Oval on Saturday, August 17.

Event organiser Gavin Hales said it was an exciting event for the Bundaberg Region to secure.

“Families will be treated to a professional bull riding show with rock star appeal,” Mr Hales said.

“It will really engage the audience and get the place rocking and pumping.

“There will be food stalls, pre-show entertainment, a big screen TV, and a DJ.”

National rodeo tour ready for show

PBR Australia is part of an international pathway for Australia’s best bull riders to enter the world tour.

General manager Glen Young said the touring pro series featured the country’s best up-and-coming bull riders.

“You can expect the unexpected at PBR,” Mr Young said.

“From start to finish it’s the best riders versus the best bulls. It’s very unpredictable.

“Bundaberg has always been hugely successful for us.”

Mr Hales said the event was being organised through a collaboration with the Lighthouse Hotel and local community groups, including the Lighthouse Festival committee.

“We want to be able to showcase some good and some big events for Burnett Heads.

“We believe an event like this is what the town wants and what the town needs.

“We want to showcase the area and bring a lot of people from in town and out of town to the place.”

He said 61-seater buses would be travelling return from Bundaberg to Burnett Heads on the night for anyone needing transport from town.

Gates open at 5pm on August 17 and an after party with a live band will be hosted at the Lighthouse Hotel.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for kids if purchased before the event, or $35 and $20 respectively if purchased on the night.

They can be booked online or, to avoid the additional booking fee, can be purchased direct from the Lighthouse Hotel by calling 4159 4202.
