Construction has officially started on the 487-home Burnett Heads RV Lifestyle Village.
Machinery rolled on to site this week as local contractor DevCon began earthworks and drainage valued at around one million dollars.
RV Lifestyle Village chief executive Phillip Stewart said it was exciting to see work now under way.
“This week sees the start of major earthworks in preparation for construction of homes and recreational facilities later in the year,” Mr Stewart said.
“We’re delighted to see our vision finally coming to life and we’re very excited that the first steps in our journey are now being taken.
“We have worked closely with Bundaberg Regional Council and a number of local consultants over the past 18 months to ensure that RV Lifestyle Village Oceanside will be an exceptional development and an asset to the local area.”
Mr Stewart said there had been plenty of interest in the site and there were many potential buyers excited to see the development underway.
“We’ve been really pleased with the level of interest in RV Lifestyle Village Oceanside, particularly from buyers wanting to relocate from the southern states.”
Site works began on February 5 with local contractor SNT Electrical engaged to connect power to the development area.
Mr Stewart said the earthworks were expected to take about 10 weeks to complete and would be swiftly followed by building construction.
“Select street and intersection upgrades will take place around the village site, along with construction of the internal road network.
“At the same time we will commence construction of the buildings which will contain the villages’ recreational facilities.
“This will be closely followed by the building of our display village to showcase our home designs.”
