High school students from across the Bundaberg Region are set to converge on Shalom College for the 2019 Bundaberg Twilight University Expo on Thursday.
Event coordinator Liza O’Donnell said the expo was in its second year and came at an important time for senior students.
“The event comes at a time when Year 10 students begin choosing their senior subjects, Year 11s who may have pathway questions and Year 12s in preparation for their QTAC applications,” she said.
“Exhibitors representing the major universities and residential colleges will be available to answer subject and course questions, and provide information about university life and studies.
“We welcome students and families to meet with the universities and residential colleges.”
Twilight University Expo benefits all
Ms O’Donnell said the expo would not only benefit students, but also families looking for information.
“Being located in a regional area means that choosing a university is a decision all family members must be involved in,” she said.
“Our ultimate goal in creating this event is to ensure that ALL Bundaberg’s youth and their families gain access to quality information.”
“This expo format has proven to be more effective in engaging with students, and perhaps more importantly, their families than individual university visits.”
The Bundaberg Twilight University Expo will be held on Thursday, 20 June from 3pm to 6pm at the Shalom College Sports Centre.
