Home and Away stars will be special guests at the annual Community Lifestyle Support Ability Ball next month, featuring a night of glitz and glamour.

Community Lifestyle Support (CLS) developed the event seven years ago as a way to provide the entire community with an opportunity to come together and celebrate people’s abilities.

“The aim is to provide a genuinely inclusive opportunity for people to enjoy a night of food, dancing and entertainment, while promoting awareness and understanding of the valuable contribution people with disability make to our local community,” coordinator Trevor Sands said.

“The community awareness benefits of such an event are enormously powerful and have far-reaching positive outcomes.

“Negative attitudes, along with misconception and lack of awareness, can present significant barriers to social inclusion.”

Trevor said three special guests would join in on the fun of the Ability Ball, with the news set to excite Home and Away fans.

Actors Sophie Dillman (Ziggy Astoni), Emily Weir (Mackenzie Booth) and Patrick O’Connor (Dean Thompson) from the popular Australian TV series will attend the ball.

“Personally meet and have your photo taken with stars from the popular television show, Home and Away,” he said.

Mr Sands said the Ability Ball was now held in Bundaberg and on the Fraser Coast, with both events selling out each year.

“This year will be no different!” he said.

“We encourage everyone to join us to help celebrate our great community.”

The Ability Ball will be held on Saturday, 7 September from 6pm to 11pm at the Multiplex, 1 Civic Street.

Tickets for the Ability Ball are available at trybooking.com or from Community Lifestyle Support office in Kalkie.

Tickets cost $75 or $55 for a companion (must be bought with full ticket and card shown).
