Free workshops to empower women entering workforce

Bookings are now open for the Rise and Shine 2020 workshops which will help to empower young women entering the workforce.

The free event will begin next Wednesday, 8 January, taking participants through a range of courses to assist with presentation, confidence and self-esteem.

The workshop is facilitated by Integrated Disability Support Service Childers with funding contributed by Bundaberg Regional Council's community grant program.

“This is a fantastic, no-cost workshop aimed at teens and young women in their twenties,” IDSS community engagement officer Debbie Tedge said.

“We’ve got you covered with all things gloss and glam from hair, nails, skin care and make up tutorials as well plenty of focus on self-confidence and discovering your inner beauty.

“Our three secret guest speakers will blow your mind or at least take you out of your comfort zone.”

Debbie said the three-day workshop would be held over three consecutive weeks on 8, 15 and 22 January 2020 and will cover a range of other topics.

“Rise and Shine will engage young people, empowering them to choose an active and healthy lifestyle as well as providing strategies for good mental health,” she said.

“Guest speakers will guide participants on ways to uncover their hidden strengths and increase their self-worth as well as developing their self confidence in social settings and as they enter the workforce.”
