Mayor Jack Dempsey called in at Bundaberg Police Station today to wish Inspector Pat Swindells all the best and thank him for his service.
Inspector Swindells will be transferring to Gympie in February. He will be replaced as Bundaberg Patrol Group Inspector by Anne Vogler.
“I’d like to publicly acknowledge the outstanding contribution that Inspector Pat Swindells has made to the Bundaberg Region,” Mayor Dempsey said on Facebook.
“I’ve worked closely with Pat in my role as chair of the Local Disaster Management Group, with him being the District Disaster Coordinator.
“As a community we wish Pat and his family all the best for the future, and we thank him for his valuable contribution across the whole region.
“Criminals and fish are the only ones who’ll be happy to see him go.”
Mayor Dempsey said Inspector Swindells has guided the police and emergency services through a number of local and district incidences.
“Pat’s been a fantastic leader for the whole district. He’s cool and calm; we’ve been very lucky to have his professional expertise,” the Mayor said.
“Pat has also contributed in many other ways to the community.
“I look forward to giving a warm Bundaberg Region welcome to our new Inspector Anne Vogler, who’s an outstanding police officer with great experience in the operational area.
“Anne has strong management skills and I’m sure she’ll continue to maintain the high standards that have been set by Pat.”
