The Bundaberg Now mobile app is available for download from the Apple and Google stores.

Bundaberg Region residents can stay more connected than ever with local news and information by downloading the Bundaberg Now mobile app.

Apple and Android versions of the app are now available after weeks of testing.

They can be used on iPhone, iPad and any Android device.

Bundaberg Regional Council spokesman, Cr Steve Cooper, said the app enables push notifications when new stories are published.

“I’ve been testing the app on an iPhone and iPad and it works very well,” Cr Cooper said.

“The user can choose which categories they want to receive notifications for, if any.

“I find it’s really convenient to get an alert when a new story is published.”

Cr Cooper said the Bundaberg Now mobile app caps off a year of innovation for the Council-owned and operated community news platform.

“Other initiatives include a nightly news video, weekly podcast and digital magazine,” he said.

“Improving communications and connectivity has frequently been identified as a priority function of Council.

“This was vitally important during the pandemic when people were socially isolated.”
