As part of the Taste Bundaberg Festival, Ohana Winery and Cheeky Tiki Cider will announce their winning People’s Cider flavour at their launch party on Saturday 12 June.

After the public nominated a range of different flavours and voting took place, the top three flavours in the running to be named the People’s Cider for 2021 include Strawberry and Mint, Blueberry Lemonade and Mango and Passionfruit.

With only two votes separating the winning flavour and the runner up this year, these flavours are all proving popular amongst the community.

Owner Zoe Young said the brewing of the winning cider was already underway and tasting amazing.

“The voting was so close with only two votes between our winner and second place, so we think most people are going to be pretty happy,” she said.

“We don’t want to give too much away but these beautiful fruits grow so well here in Bundaberg and we think it’ll make the most delicious brew.”

The launch party is the first opportunity for guests to taste the winning cider while enjoying local music and food into the night.

“The launch party will be the very first chance for people to taste our winning cider and celebrate everything that is so wonderful about the Bundaberg food bowl,” Zoe said.

“There will be live music from Todd Keightley, great food from Tasty Street Food – plus our award-winning ciders and wines on tap all with the signature relaxed Ohana vibe.”

Zoe said being involved in an event such as the Taste Bundaberg Festival was a fantastic opportunity to showcase all that the region had to offer.

“The Taste Bundaberg Festival is the most wonderful celebration of the farmers, producers and chefs of our region,” she said.

“It’s also a great way to showcase our beautiful region to the rest of the state as we’ve heard from lots of travellers that they are changing their plans to ensure they are back in Bundy for the festival!”

With the festival running over 10 days during June, there are a range of events happening that showcase the local products from across the region.
