First market event to be hosted by “The Yannie”

Yandaran Hotel
The Yandaran Hotel, or The Yannie, will host its first market event this month.

The Yandaran Hotel will turn into a bustling market space when new owners Abbie Grayson and Collin Ahern kick off the first event of its kind at the iconic pub later this month.

The Yandaran Country Markets will begin from midday on Sunday, June 20, with stalls featuring an abundance of produce, craft and more.

Abbie said there had already been plenty of interest surrounding the markets and the event was set to be the perfect opportunity for creative locals to sell their wares.

“We only purchased the pub in December after it had been closed for almost two years,” she said.

“It has become apparent that there is a need for a local, regular community event in the area.

Abbie Grayson and Collin Ahern have recently purchased the Yandaran Hotel.

“There are so many artists and home gardeners and it's a great opportunity for these lovely people to sell their items and get together with like-minded neighbours at the same time.”

Abbie said there was no set fee for holding a stall at the markets.

“We understand that cash is hard to come by,” she said.

“Rather than a site fee we ask only for a small donation to be given to put towards a large multi-draw raffle later in the year to raise funds for whichever worthy cause is decided.”

The event is set to be a great day for all involved, according to Abbie, who said there would be plenty on offer for locals and visitors alike.

“There will be live music on the day, raffles and the pub kitchen is open for lunch serving wholesome home cooked country style meals,” she said.

“What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon!”

The Yandaran Country Markets will be held every third Saturday of the month.

  1. So, is it Saturday or Sunday? And, how do we register our interest in holding a stall?
