Raw Awakening Markets start next week

Raw Awakening Markets
Josh Quinn from Raw Awakening Fitness will soon be holding markets in their outdoor area

Local gym Raw Awakening has big plans for expansion that include a café but for now the focus is the launch of new Quay Street markets.

Owner Tataina Quinn said the Raw Awakening Markets were a way to give back to the community.

“Raw is all about doing as much as we can to help people succeed in their own adventures,” Tataina said.

“Every local business should be supported no matter the size.”

In her view the “more markets the better” as they are a great way to showcase local talent.

“We have a variety of stalls starting to register, from clothing, health, shirt printing, gifts and homemade items.”

The Raw Awakening Markets will be held every Saturday afternoon from 3 pm to 6 pm starting on August 28.

Located outside the gym on 24 Quay Street, across from the Burnett River, Tataina said it was “a prime spot and it’s central for everyone to visit”.

“Having the markets on a Saturday afternoon gives families something to do.

“They can come out to the markets and then go for dinner at one of the amazing restaurants we have in the area.

“It’s all about people getting back out in the community and supporting businesses.”

Tataina said funds raised from Raw Awakening Markets stall fees would go towards a kids’ program area which would be built at the gym soon.

“Raw now has 22 exercise class, a 24/7 gym, school programs, disability programs, kids fitness and soon to open our new Health Café, which will double [as] a training opportunity for youth in hospitality.”

She said there had already been plenty of interest in the stall sites for the new Raw Awakening Markets but anyone interested could register by calling 0400 088 879, emailing admin@rawawakeninginc.org.au or messaging the Facebook page.

The 3m x 3m stalls are $10 each.

Tataina said Raw Awakening was growing every day with plenty of community support meaning they could hire five new staff.

“The Bundaberg community have been amazing with supporting Raw, knowing everything we get, we give it straight back to the community.”
