Carols by Candlelight Bargara cheerfully returns

Trevor the Christmas Tree was busy handing out cheer with his helpers at the Bargara Carols by Candlelight 2019 event.

Carols by Candlelight Bargara will return with all the Christmas festivities along with some new attractions including a Christmas themed photo booth.

Presented by Coral Coast Christian Church, organiser Janette Elvery said the community event would help spread Christmas cheer throughout the region.

“This is always a great event with lots of free things for the kids including a petting zoo, jumping castle, and face painting,” Janette said.

“There will also be a photo booth and a tent set up with Christmas costumes, where you can take your own photos of you and your family this Christmas.”

Janette said organisers were looking forward to the return of the live carol event, after COVID-19 restrictions last year meant it ran virtually.

“We are all very excited to see the return of the outdoor carols,” she said.

“This year will include a kids section and include songs such as Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree and Jingle Bell Rock.

“Everything is just falling into place now and we look forward to welcoming the community back again.”

She said food vans, including coffee and dessert would be on site, and the fabulous band would keep the crowd entertained by singing the all-time favourite Christmas carols.

Carols by Candlelight Bargara will be held on Saturday, December 11, at Coral Coast Christian Church, 596 Windermere Road, Bargara.

Gates open at 5.30pm with pre-carol entertainment starting at 6pm, before the traditional Christmas carols begin at 7pm.

There is no need to book, QR codes for COVID-19 check-in will be in place, and it’s recommended to bring a chair or picnic blanket to relax while taking in the delightful sounds of the carols.
