Take the picturesque Fairymead House gardens, mix in some high tea delicacies and local entertainment and add a pinch of fashion swap fun and you have the perfect recipe for a fabulous Mother’s Day weekend.

The Fairymead High Tea is back for its second year on Saturday 7 May after the sold-out inaugural event was enjoyed by all ages.

Council’s Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said the high tea was a fantastic way to spoil mum with a special afternoon of indulgent treats and relaxed entertainment.

“The beautiful sounds of Bundaberg-raised singer Chelsea Stutchbury will set the tone for a delightful afternoon overlooking the manicured gardens of heritage-listed Fairymead House.

“Mums will enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival, followed by delicious high tea treats, tea and coffee.”

Cr Learmonth said a new addition to the high tea would provide unique entertainment at the 2022 event.

“Ticket holders are encouraged to take part in a fun fashion swap by bringing along up to three pieces of unwanted fashion items to swap on the day.

“Casually browsing hats, clothes, bags, belts and other fashion accessories will provide light-hearted fun and conversation to complement the relaxed atmosphere at Fairymead House.”
