The Gin Gin Show is back for its 111th year with all of the action taking place this Saturday and Sunday at the Gin Gin Showgrounds.

Old favourites will be part of line up again for 2022 including the Young Farmers Challenge and the dog high jump competition, which always provide great entertainment for the whole family.

Gin Gin Show Society secretary Cristyl Bonanno said the 2022 show would be the same country event that everyone had come to know and love.

“We are a family-friendly, safe country show, we pride ourselves on creating an atmosphere that everyone feels welcome to attend, especially those with children,” she said.

“The communities and show society need your support after a break in holding our wonderful show due to COVID restrictions.”

Cristyl said there would be entertainment galore at the upcoming Gin Gin Show, with events ranging from ute musters to freestyle motorbikes, Old MacDonalds Farm and fireworks.

“We have horse and cattle events, a ute muster, the pavilion and displays from local community organisations and schools,” she said.

“We also have free family entertainment all weekend including the little red engine trackless train ride touring around the showgrounds, Old MacDonalds farm, a rock climbing wall, performances by Eljay Freestyle Motorbikes and Blue gum Farm TV and of course the fireworks.

“Returning this year is the Young Farmer’s Challenge on Saturday and Junior Farmers Challenge and Dog High Jump Competition on Sunday, these events are always a hit with the local community and provide for some great entertainment.”

Gin Gin Show entries for the mini, junior and young farmers challenge are still open, closing on Friday, 27 May with nominations to be sent to Scott on 0437 024 389.

The show will go off with a bang on Saturday night when fireworks light up the night.
