Plant sale at Nardoo fundraises for Skills Campus

Plant sale Nardoo
Horticultural Manager Anne Davies said when people buy plants from Nardoo Nursery they are supporting this site to get bigger and better which helps people with disabilities in the community.

Green thumbs will have a chance to get their hands on a range of plants starting from just $3 when Nardoo Nursery holds a plant sale fundraiser next week.

According to Nardoo’s Anne Davies, the event will not only operate as plant sale but also a market day to raise funds for Community Lifestyle Support and the Skills Campus.

Nardoo Nursery is very different to most nurseries, it is an enterprise of Community Lifestyle Support and we help people with a disability to engage in our community,” she said.

“Nardoo’s profits go back into our Skills Campus where clients learn a diverse range of skills.

“By having a plant sale and market day we attract lots of new customers who are not aware of what we do.

“They are always surprised to find acres of gardens and a friendly, well priced nursery and we often get new volunteers out of these days.”

Anne said the fundraiser would be held on Saturday 9 July from 8 am to noon at the site on Ashfield Road, Kalkie with plenty on offer for visitors.

“Paradise Markets will be here with stalls, live music and coffee,” she said.

“There will be a wide range of plants including a selection from our indoor plants, succulents, cottage, shrubs and natives.

“Apart from buying plants people can browse the markets, listen to live music and explore the grounds and dogs are welcome on a leash.”
