With Sunday marking National Macadamia Nut Day and Father's Day, Macadamias Australia is celebrating with a special artisan market event and teddy bear's picnic.
With something for everyone, the day will see Macadamias Australia open at their location on 4625 Goodwood Road from 8 am until 4pm.
Agri-Tourism Manager Kiri Braid said the event would be a fantastic celebration of both macadamias and Father’s Day.
“This is going to be an extra-special day for everyone, especially Dads, to celebrate the first-class macadamias we produce here with an artisan market onsite and, macadamia tastings this will ensure a great day out with the kids,” she said.
“‘We have put together a creative group of stallholders who are excited to sell their handmade products for the first time here.
“Entry is free for the market, and we also invite everyone to browse our Visitor Experience and learn about the industry and the Steinhardt family’s farming history that has led up to us opening this unique attraction.”
The onsite café, The Orchard Table, will be serving up macadamia-inspired food for the public all day.
The artisan market will see a number of local makers showcase their handmade goods, running from 8 am until 11 am on Sunday.
This is the first of many markets the team plan to hold at Macadamias Australia, with the versatility of the grounds lending itself to hosting many events.
Teddy bears picnic
While the market will conclude just before lunch, the Father’s Day teddy bears picnic will just be getting started.
The picnic will run from 11 am until 2 pm with the light option picnic also including a range of activities for kids, making for a relaxing day amongst the orchards.
Children are encouraged to bring their best teddy bear for the picnic.
