The Hearing the Nation tour from Hearing Australia will be heading to the Bundaberg Region soon, offering free hearing checks to the community.
In Australia, it is estimated 3.6 million people are living with some degree of hearing loss and a third of those have a hearing condition that could have been prevented.
The number of Australians with hearing loss is expected to double over the next 35 years, and by 2050 one in four Australians are expected to be impacted.
To make it easy for more Australians to receive expert hearing care, Hearing Australia is hitting the road providing access to free hearing checks for adults aged 18 and over.
The tour kicked off in recognition of World Hearing Day which is marked by the World Health Organisation on 3 March every year to raise awareness of hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care with this year’s theme being ‘Ear and hearing care for all! Let’s make it a reality’.
The Hearing Australia buses will be stopping in city, rural and remote locations in every state and territory, with other events to be held in pharmacies and community centres.
Events will be held in Bundaberg to the 31 March.
