Bargain books at this year’s Bundaberg Bookfest

Lifeline Bundaberg Bookfest has always been popular with the local community, having been a fixture on the local event scene since 2004.

More than 90 crates of pre-loved books will satisfy any bookworms curiosity when Lifeline Bookfest Bundaberg returns this week.

Lifeline Queensland’s much-loved Bookfest is back in town from Friday 24 March through to Sunday.

Book lovers can rejoice once the first Bookfest for 2023 kicks off at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct, with great reads for sale at bargain-basement prices.

This Lifeline Bundaberg Bookfest follows on from a successful September 2022 event where the community flocked in droves to grab a bargain.

Book lovers will have three days to peruse the thousands of pre-loved reads at this years’ event, with prices starting as low as 50c.

There is a huge range of genres to choose from, including cooking, health and fitness, gardening, history, biography, children’s books and much more, plus, there will be puzzles, games, DVDs, Lego, records, sheet music and collectables.

Lifeline Bundaberg and Fraser Coast Business Manager Kylie Brogden said there would be a mammoth number of quality books for sale, so everyone can be assured of picking up a quality read.

“We have accumulated a large number of books over recent months, especially over the Christmas break when people are doing their yearly clean, so there will be an incredible range of books up for grabs,” she said.

Kylie said she was looking forward to the community coming out to enjoy the event while supporting an important cause.

“Our free 24/7 crisis support services are continuing to be in high demand, and Bookfest is vital in raising funds for the support service – phone, text and online chat,” she said.

“We will be restocking over the entire three days, so there will be plenty of fresh reads to explore for those bookworms keen to return after the first day.”

Lifeline Bundaberg Bookfest has always been popular with the community, having been a fixture on the local event scene since 2004.

With preparations for the return of Bundaberg Bookfest well underway, Kylie said the team were anticipating a big turnout this year.

“We always get such a great turnout with hundreds of people walking through the doors, and we can’t wait for the community to come out and join us again this year,” Kylie said.
