BRITE Ball back to light up the town

BRITE Ball is back with a bang with an exciting line up of performers for this year’s event on Saturday 3 June at Brother’s Sports Club.

Hosted by headspace Bundaberg, BRITE Ball is a celebration of local LGBTIQA+ youth in the region and a sparkling start to Pride Month from 1 to 30 June.

headspace community engagement worker Kane Perry said the committee had taken feedback from the 2021 event and were putting an extra spin on this year’s ball.

“There will be more dancing and more entertainment,” Kane said.

“We are extremely excited to have Tanzer headlining, bringing her impressive resume to Bundaberg.

“Tanzer has performed as a DJ and artist internationally and is a mainstay within Melbourne’s alternative queer community.

“Her musical compositions move fluidly from opera to disco and from experimental to pure pop – exploring self-image, gender, romance and the power of the alter ego.

“It is safe to say we expect a unique vibe being brought to Bundy.”

Quiche Loraine will be back to perform along with other Brisbane-based drag queens Ladybird and Gia Von She.

Guests will also enjoy the sounds of local musicians Abigail Williams and Amy Alice while sipping on a complimentary mocktail and enjoying the food platters.

“The event is for people aged 16 and over, with tickets recently being opened to the wider community aged over 25,” said Kane.

“We have carefully considered the age range, and we hope for all young people in the Bundaberg community to have the opportunity to experience this type of event whether it is this year or in the future.

“We often see events like this in the big cities, so to bring this to our regional community is very cool.

“BRITE Ball was a sell-out success in 2021 and we expect this year to be no different.”
