Entries are now open for the Moore Park Beach Art Awards.

Entries are now open for the prestigious Moore Park Beach Art Awards, a highlight of the Moore Park Beach Arts Festival in August.

There are 13 categories for artists to enter with categories covering all ages and art mediums, including acrylics and oils, watercolour, pastel, drawing, abstract, sculpture, fibre art and photography.

This year’s competition also includes a new category for first time exhibitors.

Art Award Coordinator Heather Vanderwaal said they were looking forward to record entries again this year.

“With the Moore Park Beach Arts Festival firmly on the events calendar for our area, we are expecting great support from artists, both local and regional, to again enter our art competition and exhibition,” Heather said.

“With over $5,000 in the prize money pool, and the chance of exhibiting one's work, it is an opportunity worth seizing.”

Moore Park Beach Arts Inc has been conducting art workshops for artists to learn new skills and techniques or brush up on existing ones in preparation for the Art Awards.

The weekend art workshops continue until 9 July, with tickets available on the organisation’s website.

Moore Park Beach Arts Inc are hoping to build on the success of last year’s festival and highlight even more from the region’s talented artists.

“The 2022 exhibition was well received with attendees amazed that there was so much talent displayed,” Heather said.

“We look forward to showcasing, and offering for sale, art in many forms.”

“There just might be the perfect piece for your home!” Heather added.

Artists can find out more details about the Moore Park Beach Arts Festival and download the Art Awards entry form from the Moore Park Beach Arts Inc website.

Paper copies of the entry forms are also available at the Moore Park Beach Community Hub, The Pink House and in Art Plus and The Book Boutique or by emailing the Secretary.
