This year’s Taste Bundaberg Festival is offering visitors the chance to step out in style with two different events at Bundaberg’s premier venue, Bert’s Restaurant.

Bert’s is offering a five-course degustation dinner and an afternoon cocktail masterclass as part of the Taste Bundaberg Festival program.

Both events are designed to highlight Bert’s Restaurant’s close association with the region’s producers and growers.

Degustation a chance to enjoy fine dining

Guests can enjoy an elegant, candlelit five-course degustation that is sure to delight the senses, and includes pairing options aimed to impress.

Bert’s Restaurant Manager Shelley Lobartolo said Chef Sumit and the kitchen team had crafted the degustation menu to show off the region’s wide range of quality produce.

“We're very lucky with how close the producers are,” she said.

“It gives a great opportunity for us to show how much we have locally.”

Shelley said the degustation would offer event-goers a slower pace of dining, with a chance to try a range of different dishes and cooking techniques over five courses.

She said there would be something delicious in each course to tantalise tastebuds throughout the night, including main meals and dessert.

Shake it up with a cocktail masterclass

For Taste Bundaberg Festival visitors who fancy shaking it with the best, Bert’s is also offering a cocktail masterclass hosted by master mixologists.

Participants will learn expert tips and tricks for making delicious cocktails, including some of Bert’s classics as well as a couple of new creations for returning patrons.

Shelley said this year’s masterclass would again feature local spirits from Bundaberg Rum and Kalki Moon.

“We're super lucky that we can do something like a cocktail masterclass, there aren't many other places that you could have multiple choices of alcohols from your region,” she said.

“Everybody's making their own cocktails, so we're sort of floating and helping people do that, so it's a lot of fun.”

The afternoon cocktail masterclass is timed perfectly to pair with a lunch reservation beforehand, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy the full Bert’s experience.

The masterclass will also include a selection of canapes to accompany the cocktails.
