The Woodgate Beach Hotel Fishing Classic is back for a seventh year for keen angling families to wet a line and try their luck.

The annual event, held on the first weekend of the school holidays, is an opportunity for friends and families to snag over $100,000 in prizes.

Event coordinator Brandon Lindeberg said the fishing classic would have something for the entire family.

“This year’s event will be the first time organisers have capped the event at 750 entrants to ensure that we can cater to everyone’s needs across the weekend,” he said.

“This will be one year that you don’t want to miss.”

The Woodgate Beach Hotel Fishing Classic has partnered with Queensland Fishing Classics to host the event featuring the massive prize pool.

Brandon said the Young Anglers Day, on Saturday, would focus on entertaining the kids with face painting, colouring in competitions and fish cart races.

“The kids major prize draw will take place that evening with one lucky young angler taking home a boating package valued at over $13,000,” he said.

“Former My Kitchen Rules winners Dan and Steph will be another highlight on Saturday demonstrating their cooking skills.

“Live entertainment later in the evening will be performed by musician Wal Neilsen.

“Sunday will feature fishing category awards for adults and cadets and the highly anticipated adults major draw downs.”

Woodgate Fishing Classic will this year partner with Bundaberg Trackset for a charity raffle, raising money for Camp Gregory Veterans Retreat.
