Much-loved Australian stand-up comedian Dave O’Neil is touring his brand-new show, Overweight Lightweight to the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre, for an evening of laughter.
Dave may call himself a lightweight, but he has been delivering his cheeky brand of humour to Australian audiences for over 30 years.
Well-known for his guest appearances on the ever-popular ABC TV programs Spicks & Specks and Kitty Flanagan’s sitcom Fisk, Dave is a multi-talented performer and comedian.
As well as his stand-up career, Dave has written several books, been a skilled radio broadcaster and successful film actor.
Joining Dave on the tour is his friend and regular on The Debrief podcast, Brad Oakes.
Brad has a career spanning over 25 years and is best known for his TV work on Hey Hey It’s Saturday, Totally Full Frontal and The Comedy Company.
Dave said the audience could expect two hours of stand-up comedy performed by two Melbourne comedy veterans.
“It’s a great chance to see two comedians at the top of their game,” Dave said.
“I’ll be in good form and fresh from doing the Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane festivals.”
Dave said his routine focused on his life as a middle-aged Dad, with the topics of teenagers, elderly parents and health issues given a hilarious twist.
“It’s funny stuff but not rude so bring the teenagers, nanna and all your friends!”
