Author Lucy Bloom will share the experience she has gained writing three best-selling books at an author talk at Bundaberg Library.
Residents are invited to join the author and professional motivational speaker on Tuesday 16 July when she will discuss how writing each of those books has fit into her wild and wonderful career.
Having published three books across three genres, Lucy has a lot of wisdom and experience to share with the audience.
Born on a farm in Africa, Lucy studied law and art before she began a career in advertising.
She was working as a creative director in 2010 when she wrote her first book, Cheers to Childbirth, a niche title helping men know what to expect when they attended the birth of their baby.
Her second book, a memoir published in 2019, has become a calling card for Lucy’s approach to life: just give it a red hot go.
Get the Girls Out covers Lucy’s sometimes tumultuous career as the CEO of international aid charities in Ethiopia and Cambodia.
In the memoir, Lucy explores her love of fighting for the underdog and the times she discovered that the underdog was her.
In 2021, when much of the world was in lockdown, Lucy wrote her third book and her first novel The Manuscript, which was published in 2023.
A sequel to The Manuscript is currently in the works.
Signed copies of Lucy’s books will be available for purchase at the author talk.
