The 7 Sopranos set to return to the region

The Moncrieff Entertainment Centre stage will come alive with Australia’s most exciting operatic voices as The 7 Sopranos return to the region.

The Moncrieff Entertainment Centre stage will come alive with Australia’s most exciting operatic voices as The 7 Sopranos return to the region.

The highly successful group of professional young opera and music theatre singers will bring their combination of breathtaking voices, high glamour, and sophistication to the stage.

After a sellout show at last year’s Childers Festival, The 7 Sopranos Founder and Artistic Director, Tarita Botsman said the group is excited to return to the region.

“The people are so friendly, the weather is divine, and the fact that so many of the beautiful heritage buildings have been preserved is a real asset to the area.” she said.

“We had such fun last year at the Childers Festival! If only we could stay longer!”

The 7 Sopranos have been wowing audiences across Australia and internationally for over a decade.

Highlights for this concert will include arias from Carmen, West Side Story, and Lakmé, hits from musicals The King and I, Chicago, and The Sound of Music.

“Really, there is something for everyone! If you love good music and great singing, you’ll love this show. It’s full of well-known songs from musical theatre, classic songs, and some famous moments from opera.” Tarita said.

“Our Resident Director, Natasha Veselinovic, who toured with Les Miserables, will be singing ‘I Dreamed a Dream,’ and a crowd favourite is always The 7 Sopranos’ version of ‘The Toreador Song!’ Who knew you could clap along to opera?”

Bundaberg Regional Council Arts, Heritage and Asset Management portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said The 7 Sopranos return to the region is highly anticipated.

“The 7 Sopranos were a hit at last year’s Childers Festival, and we are excited to welcome them back to the region, this time to wow the audience at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre.” he said.

“This concert will be entertaining for the whole community, whether you are a fan of opera or not.”

Audience members can expect to be overwhelmed by emotion as The 7 Sopranos’ voices combine to raise the roof at the Moncrieff.
