21 vehicles from the Bundaberg 4WD Club headed south recently to participate in the 4WDQLD Corroboree, an event on the club’s calendar that had its beginnings over 40 years ago.
This year saw approximately 200 four wheel drives gather at the small town of Woodford.
The Caloundra City 4WD Club and the Gold Coast 4WD Club joined forces to run the event, which brought attendees from all over Qld to the town.
Trips on offer to showcase the area included self-guided tours to off road excursions to keep travellers entertained, with various degrees of difficultly to test the drivers and vehicles.

As night fell entertainment on stage by a different band each night, and sitting around the firepits talking about the days activities passed the time, well into the night.
The weekend had set challenges and activities that club members gained points for, which went towards the perpetual Inter Club trophy.
The Bayside Off-Roaders Club of Qld were awarded the weekend’s overall winners.
The Bundaberg Club managed a respectable second place.
The 4WDQLD Country meeting was held on the Saturday afternoon, allowing clubs to attend the state level meeting and have input, firsthand, into decisions and discussion on how the 4WDQLD Committee represents our chosen recreation.
A raffle and other giveaways saw an impressive number of prizes split among the attendees.
Sponsors had displays onsite to check out their products firsthand, with deals being done over the weekend.
An event like this welcomes the support of the many sponsors that jumped on board to help make this a great success.

Club members took the time to explore the local area, when not out on the organised tag along trips that were on offer, bringing in much needed revenue to the local businesses.
It’s always great to stop and spend some time in the smaller towns, seeking out hidden gems that you would normally drive straight past.
We congratulate the clubs for putting on an excellent weekend of four wheel driving and socialising and look forward to next years event by, as yet, which hasn’t been picked yet.
