Jane Austen’s classic Pride and Prejudice – a much-loved book, popular movies and mini series – will be brought to the Playhouse stage in May.

Director Jenny Haack said it will be a treat for Jane Austen lovers, as well as fans of live theatre.

“The play is true to the story we all love, set in England during the early 1800s, with the 5 Bennett daughters expected to marry,” said Jenny.

“Jane falls deeply in love with the wealthy Mr. Bingley, and it looks as if a romance is possible between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.

“Will the attraction between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy eventually triumph over the pride of one and the prejudice of the other?

“You’ll need to come and see our fabulous production to find out”.

Pride and Prejudice is part of the Subscription season and will be on May 2, 3, 9 and 10 at 7.30pm. May 8 at 6:30pm and Matinees – Sunday May 4 at 3 pm and Saturday May 10 at 3 pm.
