The Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra (ARCO) is coming to Bundaberg to showcase the beautiful and uplifting concert tour, Mozart’s Clarinet.
The tour soars from joyful Schubert to the freshness of female composer Emilie Mayer and one of music’s best-loved pieces: Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, played on a rare period basset clarinet.
ARCO co-artistic director and clarinetist Nicole van Bruggen said it was a show not to be missed.
“We’re excited to bring this gorgeous music for the first time on period instruments to this part of Queensland,” she said.
“And we’re even happier to partner with so many wonderful local ensembles, music educators and filmmakers to celebrate Mozart with the whole community.”
Talk and tea – meet the musicians
After the concert, stay for a relaxed chat with the performers over tea and snacks.
It’s free and a great way to learn more about the music and the people behind it.
Mozart Mini-Festival
As part of the tour, ARCO will also show the award-winning Australian film “Mozart’s Sister” – the true story of Mozart’s equally gifted sister, who was pushed out of the spotlight because she was a woman.
The screening includes a live Q&A with ARCO’s clarinetist Nicole van Bruggen.
Local talent on stage
Each concert will also feature performances by local youth and community orchestras who’ve taken part in special workshops with ARCO.
The Bundaberg concert will feature the Bundaberg Youth Orchestra.
