Motorists and cyclists are advised that a section of the Bruce Highway/Churchill Street, Childers will be closed to all traffic from 5.30 am – 5.30 pm Sunday 27 July 2025 for the annual Childers Festival.
During this time traffic will be diverted as follows:
SOUTHBOUND via Broadhurst, Macrossan and Stewart Streets indicated in green on the map below
NORTHBOUND via Taylor Street, Thompson Road and Broadhurst Street indicated in red on the map below
Additional Closures
• Eastern section of Crescent Street carpark will be closed from 4 pm Tuesday 22 July to 6 pm Sunday 27 July
• RV Stopover Areas in Crescent Street will be closed from 4 pm Tuesday 22 July to 6 pm Sunday 27 July
• Childers electric car charging station will be closed from 6 am Saturday 26 July to 6 pm Sunday 27 July
• Crescent Street will be closed to all traffic from 6 am Thursday 24 July to 5.30 pm Sunday 27 July
• Crescent Street including the electric car charging station, Bulk Water and RV Dump Point will be closed from 6 am Thursday 24 July to 5.30 pm Sunday 27 July
• Apple Tree Creek Sports ground will be opened as an RV Stopover and a temporary EV charging station will be available at the Childers Showground
• Crescent Street Bulk Water Point and RV Dump Point in Crescent Street will be closed from 6 am Saturday 27 July to 6 pm Sunday 28 July
• Bruce Highway/Churchill Street service lanes between Stewart/Lord Streets to Broadhurst Street (Isis Highway) will be closed from 5.30 am to 5.30 pm Sunday 27 July
• A section of Lord Street from Hinkler Street to Churchill Street will operate as a one-way from
5.30 am to 5.30 pm Sunday 27 July
