Adoption of Planning Scheme Policy for Branyan Local Plan Area

PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is given under the Planning Act 2016 that on 17 December 2024, Bundaberg Regional Council adopted a Planning Scheme Policy for the Branyan Local Plan Area and supporting minor amendment to the Bundaberg Regional Council Planning Scheme 2015 to include the planning scheme policy. The planning scheme policy and associated planning scheme amendment take effect on 20 December 2024.

The purpose and general effect of the planning scheme policy is to provide a local structure planning framework to guide the development of Emerging community zoned land at Branyan. The planning scheme policy includes outcomes (assessment benchmarks) for assessable development in the local plan area.

The planning scheme policy is intended to serve as an interim response until the necessary amendments are made to incorporate the local planning into Council’s Planning Scheme and Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP).

The minor amendment to the planning scheme comprises changes to Part 1, Table 1.2.5 (Planning scheme policies), Schedule 6.1, Table SC6.1.1 (Planning scheme policy index) and the Emerging community zone code at Part 6 (Zones).

The planning scheme policy and minor amendment are available for inspection and purchase at Council’s Development counter at the Auswide Building, Level 6, 16 – 20 Barolin Street, Bundaberg, and is available for viewing and download on Council’s website at www.bundaberg.qld.gov.au.

For enquiries or information about the amendment, please visit Council’s website or phone 1300 883 699.
