Shalom College is thrilled to host the prestigious Queensland Independent Secondary Schools Netball (QISSN) Carnival in 2025 from 29 June to 4 July.
This highly anticipated event will bring together nearly 80 netball teams from across the state, promising a significant boost to the local economy and a fantastic showcase for the Bundaberg region.
This year’s carnival holds special significance as it marks 25 years since Shalom College hosted the inaugural QISSN event in 2000.
What started as a modest gathering has grown into the nation’s biggest school netball carnival, making its return to Bundaberg a momentous occasion.
“It’s a great privilege to be able to host, again, the biggest school Netball Carnival in the nation,” said Shalom College Principal, Mr McMahon.
“This will be a fantastic gathering of young women and men who love playing Netball.”
The economic impact of the carnival is expected to exceed $1 million, with accommodation, food services, and tourist activities all set to benefit from the influx of teams and their families.
Organisers have also built in downtime for teams, allowing students and staff to explore local attractions like Bargara, Elliott Heads, and Burnett Heads.
An event of this scale simply wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our sponsors.
We extend our sincere gratitude to QISSN sponsors CQUniversity, Struddys, and Queensland School Photography.
We also thank our carnival sponsors:
- Bundaberg Broadcasters – Hitz 93.9FM and 4BUAM
- The Waves Sports Club
- Bundaberg Regional Council
- Tony Madden Architects
- Coronis Bundaberg
- Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton
Games will be played across the week at Shalom College and the Bundaberg Multiplex Sport & Convention Centre.
