Woodgate Bowls Club

Tuesday 25 June – Ladies Day

Paddle pop draw triples and two competition games were played for the enjoyment of the bowlers and spectators alike.

Open Consistency game between Cheryl Hutchinson and Gloria Newby: a fantastic game between two of our top bowlers, both rolling down some great shots and presenting some tight heads.

Umpire Paul Rogerson had his work cut out for him (and the new laser measure) with several three way measures going down to 1mm difference.

The lead fluctuated throughout the game, even on end 9 at 45 each, end 10, 50 each, end 12, 60 each, end 14, 70 each, end 15, 75 each.

From there Cheryl edged slowly ahead to finish the game on end 23, 122/108.

As I said a fantastic game to watch, and even better in my case to mark, two great bowlers using all their skills, battling it out to the very end.

B grade Ladies Pairs: good to see two of our more experienced B grade Ladies, Judy Stanley and Raeleen Cahill picking up two of our newish ladies, Barb Clarke and Amanda Strout, for their partners in this competition.

A game played in the friendly spirit of competition resulting in a win to Judy and Barb.
