Businesses and community members are encouraged to “go purple to #endDFV” this May in recognition of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month.
The 2025 theme, Take positive action today to build a safer Queensland, calls on all Queenslanders to unite in support of creating safer communities.
Local domestic and family violence service provider EDON Place are leading a series of public and pop-up events throughout May to raise awareness, honour lives lost, and support those impacted by domestic and family violence.
Candle lighting ceremonies have already been held throughout the region as well as a community barbecue in Gin Gin.
On Friday 16 May a Walk for Awareness event will be held from 7.15 am at Bywash Park, Flint Street Bundaberg.
These events provide an opportunity for community members, local leaders, and service providers to come together in solidarity and promote real change.
