André Rieu named Mirusia the “angel of Australia” and she will now delight the local community with A Salute to The Seekers concert at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre.
The concert is part of Mirusia's national tour saluting the music of The Seekers, performing the chart-topping hits including I’ll Never Find Another You, A World of Our Own, and Georgy Girl.
The two-hour show will also include the classics she has performed around the world with famous Dutch violinist André Rieu, and her own original songs.
The Queensland-born singer said she couldn’t believe that this would be her first trip to perform in the Bundaberg Region, and she is excited to learn more about the iconic Gladys Moncrieff.
“I actually cannot believe it, but this will be my first-time touring to Bundaberg,” she said.
“I have been through your region before when on tour and stopped in for a bite to eat. From what I could tell, it is an absolutely beautiful part of our country.
“I hope to learn some more about Gladys Moncrieff, whom the theatre is named after. I have sung a couple of songs she made famous from The Merry Widow.”
Mirusia said when she visits the Bundaberg Region early next month, she looked forward to mixing with the locals.
“Obviously one of the best things will be to meet the Bundaberg audience who I have never had the pleasure of meeting before,” she said.
“I love to create memories together with the audience so I wonder what we will all get up to during the concert.
“There is always something that happens, always a story to share afterwards.”
As an international singer Mirusia said she had spent the past decade travelling around the world and it was nice to now be able to tour her own “backyard” now.
“I am a proud Queenslander, but for the past decade have lived in Europe, basing myself from there and touring around the world,” she said.
“All of my international touring engagements are currently postponed till what looks like mid-2022!
“For me this seems crazy – as that was my entire life! However, being back in Australia at this time is a complete and utter blessing.
“I am now able to tour ‘my own backyard’ so to speak and come to cities like Bundaberg which really thrills me.
“I think one of my favourite things about touring solo is being able to share funny stories, behind the scenes titbits and of course some of my favourite music. Plus, I just love interacting with the audience and hearing about them too.”
