The vibrant Moore Park Beach Arts Festival has been named Community Event of the Year at the Bundaberg Region’s 2024 Australia Day Awards.

From humble beginnings as friends drumming on Bargara's foreshores in 2002 to having three drum circles around the region, Unity Drummers Inc. was recognised as Community Group of the Year at the Bundaberg Region’s 2024 Australia Day Awards.

Local and regional disability and health advocate Christian Lane-Krebs has been awarded Young Citizen of the Year.

Childers Library have collaborated with Forest View Aged Care Facility to offer enchanting tales for the young, and the young at heart, through Storytime.

Burnett Heads resident Carey Mitchell has been awarded Senior Citizen of the Year in the 2024 Bundaberg Region Australia Day Awards.
