The owners of a childcare centre in Svensson Heights have lodged an application with Bundaberg Regional Council to further expand services to accommodate more children.
Learn and Play Kindergarten has applied for a minor change application to the facility on Tarakan Street.
The application outlines the facility's need to increase the daily maximum number of attending children from 68 to 77 after attracting new families as a result of the owner’s recent investment in a modern facility.
In 2017, Chris and Alison Toft applied for a development application to redevelop the then 40-year-old centre to feature better facilities, more staff and a new outdoor play area.
The popularity of the centre is one of the reasons behind the recent minor change application, along with the position of families requiring more flexibility and options in bookings due to shift work.
The application states additional noise would not be an issue, with the children mostly playing indoors and acoustic shielding to be provided by the enclosing of an existing verandah.
