The Department of Transport and Main Roads has advised upcoming tentative closures of the Burnett Traffic Bridge in Bundaberg.
The temporary closures form part of ongoing works to restore the bridge.
Weather permitting, daytime closures (6am to 4pm) have been scheduled for:
- Sunday, 14 April 2019
- Sunday, 26 May 2019
- Sunday, 9 June 2019
- Sunday, 23 June 2019.
Night works and closures have been tentatively scheduled from:
- June 10-12 (Monday to Wednesday) between 8pm and 5am
- June 13 (Thursday) between 9pm and 5am.
While the bridge is temporarily closed, a signed detour will be in place via the Tallon Bridge to help non-local motorists with the changed road conditions.
Pedestrian access across the Burnett Traffic Bridge will remain available while the works are under way.
Road users should allow additional time for their journey while the closures are in place.
