A Fabulous High Tea event was held today for residents at Bolton Clarke Fairways retirement village to celebrate a multi-million dollar refurbishment of their facilities.

The grand opening, attended by over 80 people, showcased the amount of work that had gone into the Bundaberg North village over the past few months.

Fairways Retirement Village manager, Jude Riley, said construction began in January and was completed in April, with more additions coming in the near future.

“We have just done a massive upgrade. We have a new library area, a new games rooms, all of the inside of the hall has been refurbished and we are about to get a pool built as well,” she said.

“We have a great facility for our residents.

“They love it, they are very excited.”

Resident Eric Evans said details of the refurbishment had been on the radar for a long time.

“I am very pleased with what we have achieved and what everyone has done for us all,” he said.

“I think we must congratulate everyone involved in the hard work that has gone into this refurbishment and the speed and accuracy in which it was completed.”

Fairways Retirement Village

Fairways Retirement Village in Hanbury Street, Bundaberg North, has 95 independent living residents and 120 residents in the aged care sector.

Bolton Clarke provides healthcare and aged care services as one of the largest Australian owned and operated not-for-profit healthcare and independent living service providers.
