It's almost that time of year when the main street of Childers is transformed into a smorgasbord of food, culture, fun and colour for the 2019 Childers Festival!

The Bundaberg Regional Council event is so good it stops the Bruce Highway in July.

Community and Cultural Services portfolio spokesperson Cr Judy Peters said on Saturday, 27 July, Childers Festival fun would get under way in Crescent Street for a party to welcome the festivities.

“There will be a number of stallholders and food vendors in the area and it will be a more relaxed vibe,” Cr Peters said.

“It's a great opportunity to kick back and take in multicultural music, sample the food and markets on offer with an option to party until late.”

Cr Peters said the big festival day would begin at 9am on Sunday, 28 July.

“Make sure you come along hungry because there will be over 300 food and market stalls lining the historic Childers streets from 9am to 3.30pm,” Cr Peters said.

“Cuisine from all parts of the world will be complemented by an amazing array of market stalls and a diverse range of music and entertainment will overflow from a number of stages.”

Cr Peters said children wouldn't miss out, with both stage and roving entertainers performing on the day.

“It's going to be so much fun for the whole family,” she said.

“Don't forget to mark this one in your calendar, you won't want to miss this fantastic event!”
