The Kepnock Scouts Group had a small taste of what it is like to walk in the shoes of a police officer this week.

The excited group were given a tour of the Bundaberg Police Station and were also given the opportunity to check out some of the police equipment such as handcuffs, bullet proof vests and interview rooms.

Many of the kids also jumped in a police vehicle and got to ask friendly police officers some burning questions they had.

The officers were much more welcoming than police dog Stinger!

There were lots of eager discussions including crime scenes, evidence preservation, the importance of staying safe on our roads and the serious consequences that can occur when the wrong choices are made.

The Kepnock Scouts Group learnt some important information and went home with a better understanding of the role of police officers in our community.
