The Angels Community Group School Prom program is again helping needy families to celebrate one of the most important milestones in young people's lives.

The costs involved with Senior Prom or Senior Formal are often out of reach for some families, meaning that Prom is something that some students have to miss out on.

“Senior Prom is something that most students really look forward to in their last year of school,” said Angels Community Group executive officer Sue Tasker.

“But we know that a lot of families struggle to cover even just the basic costs of prom for their child.”

Angels School Prom Program was launched in 2018, providing students from the Bundaberg Region with everything they need to have the full School Prom experience.

“We can help with dresses, suits and shoes and we are also extremely lucky to have the support of Olivia from Eclectic Hair who makes sure everyone is looking their best for their big day,” Sue said.

Since announcing the launch of the 2019 Prom Program, Angels Community Group has been overwhelmed with offers of support from our community.

“We have had two local photographers offering their services and even spray tans and the use of vintage cars, the support has been amazing,” Sue said.

“We just can’t thank our community enough for their continued support.”

While Angels have been overwhelmed with the offers of support coming in there are still a few things the group would appreciate assistance with.

“We would really appreciate more donations of formal dresses, suits and shirts as well as dress shoes and accessories like belts, jewellery and evening bags,” Sue said.

Angels Community Group is also wanting to let the community know that they are here to help, if any family is struggling to meet the cost of their child’s prom they just need to get in touch.

“We can assist with the full prom experience or just help with certain parts of the day like hair and make-up,” Sue said.

“We have a great team here at Angels, backed by some extremely generous members of our local community.”
