There’s no rest for the talented team at the Playhouse Theatre, with the sold-out season of Mary Poppins about to begin, they are already planning their 2020 Musical – Mamma Mia.

Mamma Mia auditions will be held from this Saturday 30 November, for those wanting to be in the ensemble (Chorus).

Director Rebecca Hutchins said they were hoping to see lots of new faces.

“We have a fantastic team of actors, singers and dancers who regularly perform in our productions, but we love to welcome new talent,” Rebecca said.

“We’re always looking for men to join us and Mamma Mia will be no exception”.

While the Mamma Mia auditions may seem like a daunting process, Rebecca said they make it as painless as possible.

“We’re asking people to arrive at 2 pm at the Playhouse Theatre in Steffensen Street, ready for a 2.30 start and it’s always a fun and welcoming atmosphere,” Rebecca said.

“Firstly we will go over the songs and the movement sequence. Following this, we will ask everyone to wait in the foyer where they will be called down in small groups.

“After the audition they will be free to go, unless further instructions are given on the day.”

Anyone interested in auditioning is asked to wear closed in shoes and reminded to bring water.

Further auditions for Mamma Mia will be held in December for featured roles.
